|Indian Embassy in Belarus is an output of formal relations which India had developed after the break up of the Soviet Union in 1991. It shares border with Poland in the West, Lithuania and Latvia in the North and North West, Russia in the East and North East and Ukraine in the South. India was one of the first countries to recognize Belarus as an independent sovereign state. India has ongoing cooperation in the field of political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological fields. This is the wonderful and inimitable land of beauty, the land of blue lakes with rich cultural and historical heritage and deep roots in the past, attracts tourists from all over the world. There are many Indians living in Minsk and about 800 students are studying in other cities like Gomel, Grodno and Vitebsk in medicine, engineering faculties.
