As India and Mexico are a traveler's paradise, so the Embassy of India in Musset, Mexico and Mexican Embassy in India are working towards the promotion of tourism and culture in their respective countries. Relations between Embassy of India and Embassy of Mexico have strengthened because the Mexican people have always felt a great affection, admiration and respect for India, its history, and its contributions to universal culture. Mexico was the first Latin American country recognizing India's independence and establish diplomatic relations. Jawaharlal Nehru sent his sister Vijayalakshmi Pandit as India's first ambassador to Mexico. Indian Embassy and Mexican Embassy maintained close ties of friendship which also share principles and views firmly committed to democracy, human rights and the environment and cooperated closely to maintain the international peace and order with the aims and objectives of the United Nations, Regional Organizations, and World Trade Organization.
