Relations between Indian Embassy in Lima, Peru and Peruvian Embassy in India are result of age-old India-Peru relations. The diplomatic relations between India and Peru were established during the period of Jawaharlal Nehru and both countries celebrated their 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2003. Indian Embassy and Peruvian Embassy share much in common like both countries are members of NAM, Andean Community, G – 15, the Radio Group, and APEC. Embassy of India and Embassy of Peru are consolidating the bilateral ties with regular Bilateral Foreign Office Consultations. Many cooperation and agreements have been signed between these two countries in the field of Antarctic exploration, agricultural research, space research, software, tourism, IT, defence, handicrafts, etc. Both India and Peru are members of the Group of Like-Minded Mega Diverse Countries. India as per Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) which was launched in 1964 offers around 10 ITEC scholarships annually.

The timings of the Embassy are from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday - Friday, except holidays.
The timings of the Consular Section of Embassy are from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Embassy working days.
The Embassy Library is open to the public from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 4 PM.
Applicants are advised to check whether the Embassy is working on a particualr day. An appropriate notice is put up in the Embassy premise about the forthcoming holidays.
