Indian Embassy in Seoul, Korea and Korean Embassy in India share excellent political relations since the time of Jawaharlal Nehru when under his leadership India extended its support to Korea to end the Japanese colonial rule in 1945. During the Prime Ministership of Jawaharlal Nehru, India played an important role in various capacities to establish the democratic government in Korea and restore the peaceful condition after the Korean War. Since that time the relations between Indian Embassy and Korean Embassy getting deeper and diversified in various fields and the trade between India and Korea has reached to billions dollars in 2007. In 2007, many high level visits have been taken place like External Affairs Minister of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee visited Korea which further consolidated the political, cultural and economic affairs between the Embassy of India and Embassy of Korea.
