Embassy of India in Stockholm, Sweden and Embassy of Sweden in India are working with the aims and objectives of consolidating the bilateral relations between India and Sweden. The present relations between Indian Embassy in Sweden and Swedish Embassy in India can be traced back to pre-independence year when a Swedish Company Ericsson celebrated its 100 years of relations with India. The diplomatic relations through the Embassy of India and Embassy of Sweden further strengthened when Jawaharlal Nehru visited Sweden in 1957 to establish a close relation with the Swedish Social Democratic Party. After that many high level meetings have been taken place between the Embassy of India and Embassy of Sweden to enhance the cooperations in the fields of IT, Telcome, Biotechnology, Environment Technology etc. Both Indian Embassy and Swedish Embassy are also promoting the culture and tourism of their respective countries.
