Rajasthan

The word Rajasthan is derived from two words “Raj” which means “king” and “asthan” means “place” or “land”, so the word Rajasthan combinedly means adobe of kings or the place of kings. The history of Rajasthan can be traced before 2500 BC where Indus Valley Civilization had its origin, where the Aryan tribes settled down permanently and later on many others like Afghans, Turks, Persians and Mughals made their home and assimilated with the local people and culture.
