Embassy of India in Shanghai, China is the reflection of bilateral relations between Shanghai and New Delhi which was established on April 1, 1950. It was during Jawaharlal Nehru that India and China evolved the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence in 1954. Indian Embassy has maintained a good relation with China and the year 2007 is regarded as "China-India Year of Friendship through Tourism". Thereafter, Embassy of India in Shanghai and Embassy of China in India are making efforts to develop the tourism industry through which people know more about each other, sustain the traditional friendship and enhance interactions between two civilizations. Currently 7,000,000 Indians go abroad every year and those who wish to go to China not only visit the Great Wall, but also discover other interesting tourist destinations. Some of the India related tourist attractions in China are Grottoes located in Dunhuang, Xinjiang, Luoyang, Dazu, and Datong. Some famous temples like Five Pagoda temple in Beijing, White Horse Temple in Luoyang, Big and Little Goose Pagodas in Xi'an and Famen Si in Fufeng. Some famous memorials and museums are Dr. Kotnis Memorial in Shijiazhuang, Parsi Cemetery in Guangzhou and Qingdao etc.
