Indian Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia

Indian Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia and Namibian Embassy in India are the result of historically close relations based on shared ideals of freedom and dignity of the individual. During the period of Indian freedom struggle, Jawaharlal Nehru was trying to integrate all those countries of the world which were fighting against the British colonialism with Indian national movement for the cause of democracy. Since 1946 India had taken the lead in every international forum especially the UN Committee on Decolonization, in supporting the liberation struggle of Namibia and provided all possible moral, material and diplomatic support and assistance in the form of training, medicines, humanitarian relief, Special NAM Fund for Namibia, NAM Solidarity Fund for Namibia and the Commonwealth Special Training Programme for Namibia.
