Working of Indian Embassy in Moscow, Russia and Russian Embassy in India is an output of age old friendly relations between India and erstwhile Soviet Union which are rooted in the deep history of indo-Russian relations shares much in common like pluralistic and multicultural societies combined with the strong sense of cultural unity operating in a federal form of government. However, the diplomatic relations between India and Russia were established during the Prime Ministership of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947. India Embassy and Russian Embassy tied with each other with common ideology of socialism. Even after the collapse of Soviet Union and the development of new strategy in the world politics, Indian Embassy maintained a good diplomatic relations with Russian Embassy to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the Russian Federation.

Visa applications can be submitted at the Consular wing of the Embassy of India, Moscow from 10 AM to 12.30 PM on all working days.
Visa can be collected from the same place from 5 PM to 6 PM on all working days. Our Consulates in St. Petersburg and Vladivostok accept visa applications from 9.30 AM to 6 PM on all working days. We are closed on Saturdays & Sundays.
Embassy is closed on Saturdays & Sundays. Applicants are advised to check whether the Embassy is working on a particualr day. An appropriate notice is put up in the Embassy premise about the forthcoming holidays.
