Ranthambore National Park is located on the northwestern part of India in the state of Rajasthan. As the Ranthambore National Park is situated in the midway between Bharatpur and Kota, it becomes the centre of attractions for all those who visited to either Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary or the historical town of Kota. This National Park of Rajasthan is famous in the world for Tiger Reserve Project and the world's largest collection of nearly 264 species of Indian native animals such as marsh Crocodiles, Hyenas, Jungle Cats Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara and Sloth Bears that offers the tourists a unique natural experience.

History of Ranthambore National Park
The history of Ranthambore National Park is more or less similar to the history of other parks and sanctuaries of Rajasthan that a version of an erstwhile hunting ground of rulers of the princely states. However, it was made a game sanctuary in 1955 and a full-fledged National Park in 1980. It was in 1973 the Ranthambore National Park was listed among the reserves protected under the Project Tiger. In 1992, the extension program of the park was carried on and surrounding areas of Keladevi Sanctuary and Sawai Madhopur Sanctuary was added to the National Park.

Water Resource
The Ranthambore National Park is credited with six man made parks and many watercourses knitting the entire length and breadth of the park. Though the park is connected with two rivers but the internal drainage system of the park has no link up with them.

Rich Diversity
This park enchanted the tourists from all parts of the world for its varieties of animals like Sambar, Chittal, Nilgai, Gazelles, Boars, Mongoose, Indian Hare, Monitor Lizards and a large number of birds preserved in the park besides the Tiger Project.

Wildlife Safaris
The most sought after and thrilling perspective of Ranthambore National Park is its wildlife Safaris where the tourists have a unique opportunity to see the tiger from face to face in its natural habitat along with varieties of other animals.

Jeep Safaris
The jeep safari in Ranthambore is one of the exciting tours of the Park that takes three and half an hour. For the convenience of the tourists the booking is done in advance at the RTDC Office.

Ranthambore Fort
It is said that the name of the Park is admired after the name of Ranthambore Fort which is situated at the meeting point of the Vindhya and Aravalli ranges. This fort gives the perfect overview of the entire park.

Other Attractions of Ranthambore National Park
This park is famous not only for the preservation of the Tigers but is also famous for a large number of other animals like sambar, chital nilgai, boar, gazelle, Indian hare, mongoose and monitor lizards, deer, leopard, hyena. jackal, jungle cats, slothe bear and marsh crocodile.
